Macros is a small, independently run food log. This policy describes exactly what it stores, why, and how to get rid of it. It is written to be read, not to be survived.
No password is ever stored, because there isn't one. No analytics, advertising, or tracking software runs on this site. No location, contacts, photos, or device identifiers are collected.
Your data is used for exactly one thing: showing you your own food log. It is not sold, rented, or shared with anyone. It is not used for advertising or marketing, and it is not used to train machine-learning models.
Three infrastructure providers process data on our behalf, and only to keep the service running:
If you choose to connect an AI assistant such as Claude or ChatGPT, that assistant can read and write your food log on your behalf, and your messages to it are handled under that provider's own privacy policy. This connection is optional and off unless you set it up.
Data is stored on servers in the United States and kept until you delete it. There is no scheduled purge and no archival copy kept after deletion beyond short-lived encrypted database backups, which age out within 30 days.
If you are in the EEA, the UK, or California, the rights described in the GDPR and CCPA apply to you. In practice they are satisfied by the two buttons above; for anything they don't cover, email the address below.
Traffic is encrypted in transit (HTTPS), and the database is encrypted at rest by the hosting provider. This is a personal project run by one person, not an audited enterprise service, and it is offered without warranty. Please don't record anything here you would consider medically sensitive.
Macros is not intended for anyone under 13, and accounts are not knowingly created for them.
If this policy changes materially, the date at the top changes and anyone with an account is notified by email before the change takes effect.
Questions, deletion requests, or anything else: patelakash1@gmail.com.
